Queensland Beekeepers' Association Inc
Annual State Conferences & Annual General Meetings
Each year, the Queensland Beekeepers' Association hosts a State Conference and Annual General Meeting. These events are hosted across Queensland, taking our members to regional locations, major metropolitan centres, and, occasionally, remote rural locations.
Each year, our QBA branches take turns at hosting this event. This year's conference will take place on the Gold Coast, at the Southport Mantra Sharks, between the 19th & 20th of June 2025.
Thursday and Friday (19th & 20th June 2025) will see the QBA Conference program ‘Beekeeping to the Future’ delivered to more than 200 delegates, covering topics related to the future of beekeeping driven by new technologies and innovative practices that are transforming the industry allowing for more precise management and early detection of issues, hopefully ensuring healthier colonies. The future of beekeeping is filled with innovation and sustainability. As challenges continue to arise, beekeepers must adapt by embracing new technologies and best practices. Beekeepers will need to stay ahead of these threats by adopting new monitoring tools, sharing research, and collaborating with experts worldwide to tackle approaching challenges.
On Thursday evening (the 19th of June), we will have a Trade Show meet and greet where attendees, exhibitors, and industry professionals can connect and network in a relaxed environment. It is an excellent chance to expand your professional network, learn from others in the industry, and establish connections that can lead to new business prospects.
On Friday evening, the QBA will host a closing celebration and an opportunity to reflect on the key insights shared during the conference. This night is not only a way to close the conference on a high note but also an opportunity to honour achievements, share success stories, and look ahead to future industry developments. Our guests will enjoy a 3-course fine-dining meal.
Our conference is a great opportunity to meet and mingle with like-minded individuals, learn from the research and industry development specialists who continue to push the boundaries to support our sector to build strong, healthy, and happy bees, and your chances to speak with beekeeping trade specialists who provide a hands-on look into the latest innovations in beekeeping equipment and supplies.
Following on from our two jam-packed days at the conference, the Brisbane Branch will be organising a field day. If you are keen to have a trade stand at the Field Day (Saturday, 21st June), please contact Trevor Weatherhead at queenbee50@bigpond.com.
If you are company is keen to support the QBA as we continue to challenge the conventional boundaries of engagement and take our beekeepers on the journey of enrichment, send Chris Kassebaum an email at c.kass@live.com.au, and he will arrange to send you a copy of our 2025 Sponsorship Prospectus.
