Transition to Management (T2M) Information 

On the 9th of February 2024, the National Management Group approved the transition to management plan (T2M) for the honey bee and pollination dependent industries. We encourage all beekeepers to learn more about the T2M process in Queensland. Click here to learn more.

Varroa mite surveillance and the Bee 123 portal 

Beekeepers are urged to conduct varroa surveillance and report your results to the Bee 123 portal. Beekeepers should monitor for varroa mite at a minimum of every 16 weeks.

    Dear Members, 

    The National Transition to Management Plan will co-host a free online webinar with AHBIC to provide an update of the program to the Australian honey bee sector. 

    The webinar will take place on Tuesday 30th April 2024 between 7:00pm and 8:30pm.  

    Should you wish to participate on the evening, please ensure you complete an online registration in order to receive the 'link' to dial in. Click here to register. 

    Presenters on the webinar will be:

    • Tamara Prentice, National Varroa T2M Coordinator will provide an overview of the program implementation and timelines.
    • Julie White, National Training & Education Coordinator will give an update on the rollout of the National Varroa Mite Management Training Program.
    • Bianca Giggins, National Varroa Mite Coordinator (Australian Honey Bee Industry Council) will talk to the Varroa Development Officers and how they will support beekeepers nationally. 

    All members are encouraged to participate in the webinar.
